Colin Hicks, Eurisy's President, participated in the session "International Market Opportunities in Space: What to exploit, and how to exploit it!" organised on the 9th July in the framework of the Space Zone at the Farnborough International Air Show.
He talked about the increasing opportunities to enable society to benefit from space, notably by taking into account the needs, and demand from local and regional authorities, and SMEs, who can use satellite applications to respond to socio-economic and environmental challenges.
The Space Zone in 2012 featured the major space agencies and space companies within a dedicated area forming exhibits, live demonstrations, and conferences and seminars. Having increased in size by 50% over 2010, the Space Zone welcomed participation from The UK Space Agency (UKSA), the European space Agency (ESA), Roscosmos, The Russian Federal Space Agency, the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Astrium along with a greatly increased number of SME’s representing the space Industry.
