EUSPA together with Eurisy, in cooperation with the Portuguese space agency, Portugal Space, is organising the sixth workshop of the series "Satellite-based Services for Disaster Risk Management". The event will take place in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. During the event experts will present operational satellite-based services for disaster risk management. Early adopters and relevant authorities are called to illustrate the challenges and benefits stemming from the integration and use of satellite-based applications. Ultimately, participants will be challenged to move from the national to the European perspective and to discuss ways to improve user data accessibility for disaster risk management.

This webinar series, organized by Eurisy within its SPACE4SPORTS initiative, in collaboration with EPSI- the European Platform for Sport Innovation, aims to explore the various applications and benefits space data can have in the sector, from enhancing performance analysis to enabling improved decision-making processes or supporting infrastructure management. As the role of satellite data in the sport sector is increasingly significant, this webinar series is intended to increase awareness on the potential uses of satellite applications hence the benefits stemming from the integration of innovative solutions to optimise processes and provide better and more effective services. On May 24th, the first episode will take place, and we will explore the topic of Entertainment, and on the role of satellites for sport entertainment and live broadcasting. We will explore success stories and cases from users and service developers, and learn more about current funding opportunities to support innovative endevours which link Space and Sport.

The event will take place in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria as part of the Internation Defence Equipment and Services Exhibition “HEMUS 2024”. During the event experts will present operational satellite-based services for disaster risk management. Early adopters and relevant authorities are called to illustrate the challenges and benefits stemming from the integration and use of satellite-based applications. Ultimately, participants will be challenged to move from the national to the European perspective and to discuss ways to improve user data accessibility for disaster risk management.
