The first prize has been awarded to the MASTERIS team, including:

Steffan Davies (team leader), Ricardo Cabral, Tiago Cordeiro, and Martino Correia.

The team presented a solution for Heritage Surveillance and Monitoring called ARCHER, using advanced remote sensing techniques to detect ground deformation and monitor subsidence at archaeological sites, monuments and historic urban centres, and relying on algorithms to detect different types of surface changes caused by erosion, floods, vegetation or human actions. Their presentation is available here.


 

The 3-month mentoring scheme from the Rubicon Centre of the Cork Institute of Technology has been awared to:

Space4HP team, including:

Arianna Traviglia (team leader), Riccardo Bernardi, Marco Fiorucci, and Elisa Furlan.

The team presented a solution called Space HeArT (Keep //HEritage ARchaeology and culTure//beating), including two applications to monitor coastal heritage at risk. Their presentation is available here.

Patrick Hartigan (team leader), Thomas Hartigan and Maghnus Hartigan.

The team presented a solution called ChOps (Coastal Heritage Operations Protection Services), including applications to safeguard offshore infrastructure from intrusion, degradation and natural disasters, and to protect offshore personnel from structural degradation and natural disasters. The 3-month mentoring scheme from the National Space Centre has been awared to:

GOMA team, including:

Olga Markogiannaki (team leader), Athanasia-Maria Tompolidi, Georgia Kalousi, and Michaela-Maria Karathanou-Nicholaidi.

The team presented a solution called MIND (Monitoring tool of masonry arch bridges in Ireland using Earth observation Data), an integrated solution that combines Earth Observation and in-situ data, methods and techniques to monitor cultural heritage bridges. Their presentation is available here.

Evgeny Ivanov and Florian Ricour.

The team presented a solution using Sobloo and CREODIAS Copernicus Earth observation data to alert authorities and inform the public on risks to cultural heritage on the coast, such as coastal erosion and floods, and to monitor the structural integrity of cultural buildings. Their presentation is available here.

 

The special prize on the Cultural Heritage & Coastal Changes challenge has been awarded to the MAYA team, including:

Aravind Ravichandran (team leader), Agatha Mattos, Mahabir Gupta, and Yuliana Goranova.

The team presented a solution called MAYA (Monitoring Coastal Erosion Anywhere) to study the effects of coastal erosion on sites situated around the Irish coast, using Dunbeg Fort as a case study. Their presentation is available here.

 

 

The special prize on the COVID-19 response has been awarded to the TSSG team, including:

Steven Davy (team leader), Deirdre Kilbane, Joseph Manzi, and Cian Kehoe.

The team presented a solution called NEAR ME (Visit Local Safely), using satellite data to analyse outdoor carpark capacities and usage and direct tourists to less visited tourist attractions. Their presentation is available here.
