Achieving Europe 2020: policy coordination in support of cities, regions and SMEs

    11 December 2012, Brussels

On 11 December 2012, the Committee of the Regions hosted this half-day conference organised by Eurisy, to discuss how better coordination between the EU space policy, sectoral policies (Environment, Transport) and transversal policies (Cohesion Policy, CIP, COSME, Horizon 2020), can facilitate end-users’ access to satellite services, and the achievement of Europe 2020 objectives.

  • The European Earth Monitoring Programme Copernicus: its benefits for the citizens of Eastern Europe

    Conference

The European Earth Monitoring Programme Copernicus: its benefits for the citizens of Eastern Europe

    21-22 May 2013, Bucharest, Romania

This conference is an opportunity for users, service providers and decision-makers to learn about the current status of the Copernicus programme (which is less than 12 months shy of its fully operational phase), as well as about the good practices and success stories in how satellite information is used operationally to respond to socio-economic and environmental challenges.

In this framework, Eurisy organises a session where confirmed and potential users of satellite-derived information talk about their experience so far, as well as their current and future needs for geospatial information. The objective is to stimulate a discussion on what more can be done to make it possible for such end-users to access and take up satellite information applications for their operational needs.

The event is co-organised by the European Commission, the European Space Agency, the Romanian Space Agency and Eurisy.
